Day 3 - Oreo Balls

Yummy. I don't remember how I came across Oreo balls but I wish I had long ago. They are so easy to make and yet so delicious. I can't get over how much of a crowd pleaser they are. You can do them any way you want and be as simple or fancy as you need. Dh had planned a BBQ last night for some guys at work last minute, so I was happy that I had all the ingredients to make this. I didn't do them fancy as I was making them as the guests were in my living room. If you haven't tried these than it is a definite must even if you aren't a fan of Oreos like myself. :)
Ingredients:1 box of Oreo cookies
1 pkg cream cheese
Candy Melts (or chocolate of your choice)
Place the Oreo cookies in the mixer and mix until crumbled fairly fine. I try to break down the chunks as much as possible.
Add the cream cheese when the cookies are crumbled to your liking. Mix until smooth. You will need to scrape down the bowl and try to refrain from licking the spoon afterwards. ;)
Once it is mixed put it in the fridge for 5-10 minutes so that it can harden up a bit and be easier to work with. Once cooled, use a scoop (or your hand) to make small balls and place on a plate or cookie sheet with wax paper.
If you are not in a hurry I'd suggest putting the balls back in the fridge for 30 minutes so they firm up. It makes it much easier to dip in chocolate. I didn't do this as I was in a hurry and it is definitely more difficult to roll into chocolate.. so I ended up drizzling mine for the most part.
You can use any colours you would like and feel free to add two colours for a sharp contrast.
Serve right away or put in fridge until ready to eat. (I actually prefer to eat these when they are nice and cold but some people prefer them soft. If you are serving for a party you can keep some at room temp and some in the fridge.. your call)
ENJOY..
Day 4 is chocolate and peanut butter ribbon. A quick simple dessert that tastes wonderful..

So yummy!
I crush my oreos in a food processor/mini oscar instead of my free standing mixer. Its faster & they get finer. I also use almond bark as my coating instead of chocolate. But with oreo balls every way is the right way! A person just can't go wrong!
